California: Marine World

California: and we're off . . .

After several delays to an already questionably late departure time (esp. with three little kids!) we finally made it to California.  I think it was 2:00 in the morning when we arrived, which means that it was really  5AM for us.  Yikes!  Considering the circumstances, the kids were all amazing, and even went back to bed for a few hours when we got to grandma and grandpa's house.  

I think I fell asleep mid conversation while driving to their house.  Sorry Grandma! 

We spent most of the day in our pj's, sittin' around, trying to adjust to the time, and watching Allie demonstrate her ballet moves for everyone.

As you can see, Cayden managed to get dressed, but then sat on this chair staring into space most of the day.

As part of the class gift for the teacher, each student made a page in a book.  Conner decided to draw the school, and write "KG" above the door (which was the name of his kindergarten class) for his page.  He wrote a short note to his teacher on the back.  I must say, in my humble opinion, that he did a fabulous job!  We love it!

Conner's Last Day of Kindergarten

Conner had such wonderful teachers, made some really good friends, and had an amazing year!  During the last week, they took a field trip around the school to visit the 1st grade classrooms, and Conner was so excited to meet his teacher for next year, and to see that she was just two doors down from his kindergarten classroom !

KG End of Year Show

Conner was excited for weeks before the show, and kept making sure that mom & dad were going to be there.  They learned about habitats, and sang a song about "The Meadow" and everything that lives there.  It was adorable!

When Conner gets nervous, or thinking about something, he plays with his shirt.  I think he likes to flash his tummy to show his scars like a man.  :)

Luckily, we did not have to say "good-bye" to anyone as we will see them all next year!

We moved, again!

Do not worry if you missed the first move 10 months ago, it is all a blur to us as well!  :)

If you look closely you will see that our new house comes complete with two (only one pictured) wild turkeys.
