As soon as the boys saw the giant M&M's on the side of the building, we knew we had to take them to M&M World. FIVE floors of M&M stuff - everything from the candy itself to jammies, toys, clothes, bed sheets, hats, plates - I could go on and on. So we decided that we did not want to spend a lot of money in this store, and that we did not need any toys, etc - so we told the boys they could pick some candy. BIG MISTAKE! The M&M's are sorted by color and sold in bulk, and we let the boys each get a bag and pull the lever to get the color(s) they wanted. Keir got a bag for his jar at work - he thought it would be fun to have just black and white M&M's. And, of course, I wanted the almond M&M's, so we ended up with four bags. I am guessing we would have paid $10 if we bought this quantity at the grocery store. We got to the register, and the total was over $40. What? Can we put some back? Are you kidding? $40 on M&M's . . . . . had we paid attention to the "per pound" price maybe we would have had some warning, but surely we would not have let this be the boys treat for the day. Oh well, lesson learned. Do NOT buy M&M's from M&M world! The dispensers sorted by color make it very tempting, but do not give in!
