In order to have Conner wake up fully and breath on his own, they need to wean the current pain meds a little, but even with the current pain meds he is showing sings of pain. So, they are trying to decide what pain meds to switch to, and one of the options would be to put in an epidural. I was just told by his nurse after her discussion with the the surgeon fellow who assisted in his surgery that oftentimes in adults with a clamshell, an epidural is needed to control the pain. We will see . . .

I'd want one!
Yeah, I think I want one for him as well....I just cannot imagine how they get one in with everything he has going on all over him right now?? I think I will have to leave if/when they do that.
LOVE YOU SIS!
Thank you so much for posting updates on Connor. What a trooper that boy is, wow! You all have been on my mind constantly since he went into surgery. Each post makes me cry my eyes out - I'm just so happy it's going well. I hope they find something to keep his pain away completely. Allie and Cayden were SO fun yesterday and I can't wait to tell you all about it sometime. Long story short, Dre has NEVER had so much fun with other kids. It was so amazing to see. Anyway, I just adore your kids and think you guys are so amazing. I can't imagine what all of this has been like for you. You both have been so strong, it's been incredible to see. Hang in there! Tell Connor there are so many people who think he's like Superman now. And I can't wait until he gets some water! What a moment that will be!
Thanks Crystal for taking such good care of my sister's kids! They ARE precious and I feel so bad that I'm not there to watch them for her... so thank you. I cry my eyes out with every post I read too... but I'll deal with the tears to have the information! :)
